Lodging - Sierra Llorona Panama Lodge
Sierra Llorona Panama Lodge is a jungle lodge set on a private reserve of 200 hectares of tropical rainforest in the province of Colon, on the Caribbean slope of the Panama Canal.
The lodge is composed of eight charming rooms including a beautiful suite. Rooms have private bathrooms with hot water, ceiling fans and a balcony from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the untamed nature or take a "siesta" in the hammock.
Other facilities include music and television areas, a small bar, a lovely Jacuzzi and ecological trails of low, medium
and high intensity, through the humid rain forest of Sierra Llorona Reserve, with abundant birds, woody vines, orchids, mosses and bromeliads.
Sierra Llorona is a great place for birdwatchers as more than 200 species of resident and migratory birds can be seen in the reserve, but it is also a place of interest for anyone interested in tropical nature, as endemic plants, reptiles, frogs and butterflies abound.
It is possible to swim in natural river pools at any of the lodge's captivating trails.
Birds are numerous and easy to see at the gardens surrounding the lodge, where the best bird takes place, birds can also be seen along the trails that go deep into the forest. A series of observation areas surround the lodge. There is also a comfortable terrace which is the prime location to observe birds on the rainforest canopy, wait for the hummingbirds to come to the feeders or just lay back, relax and enjoy the view.
Panamanian cuisine is served and includes recipes such as stuffed "chayotes",
rice cooked with coconut milk, meat with papaya sauce and much more.
